It's been a while since the last services update and... really, not much has changed.
Our biggest snow storm of the Winter Season 2011-2012 was the bit that fell back around Halloween, and there's been nothing measurable since... while that keeps the plow in storage, this weather isn't entirely conducive to some of the less pleasant, but necessary, cycles in plant life. I've seen some rather confused buds looking ready to pop, and it's hardly Spring yet... we have had some freezes, but nothing too deep and lasting. With a couple of meadows seeded last year, I'm really hoping that ~ and what's still to come ~ is enough to convince some of the seeds to crack open and do their thing... and, hopefully, wait until a real thaw before they attempt to grow a bit.
With the plows and shovels and snow blowers lying still, there's still plenty of time to do other yard work. Transplants can still happen, if you're looking to move plants around your yard, and with the lack of snow cover, all the usual Autumn clean up tasks can still take place.
Of course, the lack of current snow fall does make it easier for us to walk your driveways and sidewalks, see what the snow will hide, and allow us to give you a more accurate estimate for our snow clearing services. Without snow cover, we can also see your lawn areas and other landscaping so we can quote you on mowing and other lawn maintenance services for the 2012 growing season.
Snow or not, it's also a great time to talk about plans for redesigning your landscape. We can sit down and discuss your needs, and provide you with a free estimate. If you get your design project scheduled prior to March 20, we'll give you an additional 10% off all labor charges ~ this discount will stack with the 10% discount we offer to members of the Humane League of Lancaster County (see their membership page for information on becoming a member, and make sure to show us your membership card before we write up any contracts to make sure you get the discount included!)
